    Entrepreneurship Conference

This Saturday I attended an entrepreneurship conference at Strathmore University. It was a very interesting event, especially after barcampkenya 2.0 the previous Saturday.

Following up to my previous post about ZOHO, I’d like to talk a bit about a program called Entrepreneur Assist, which fits in perfectly with my experiences this weekend.

Entrepreneur Assist provides free business tools. From the site:

Welcome to Entrepreneur Assist, a collection of free business planning and productivity tools designed with entrepreneurs in mind.

    You can:

    • Save your favorite Entrepreneur stories and web pages.
    • Create text documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
    • Customize and use business form templates.
    • Read a selection of free business books.
    • Schedule events and reminders.
    • Build your business plan.

The service is powered by ZOHO. Here are some video (which you can also find on my vodpod here) about this interesting service for entrepreneurs.

    ZOHO

Every once in a while, actually more often than i would like to admit, I try out new things. Whether it’s software or hardware, an online service… Today I registered and played around with ZOHO an online office/business suite.

The ZOHO service is really neat. They have several offerings ranging from basic office suite applications such as spreadsheets and word processing as well as project management, database applications, a really cool chatting facility, meetings, CRM and Business apps online and more. They also have plugins for Microsoft Office, Project and Firefox.

It’s sort of like taking Google Docs up a couple of steps higher.

The interface is simple, clean and intuitive. You can get free registration as well.

For developers. such as myself, the service has APIs through which you can interact with it and do a number of things to extend or abstract native ZOHO functionality.

They are also making various offerings accessible over mobile devices such as the iPhone.

You can view videos about the various things you can do with ZOHO.
