Sir Tim Berners Lee at Strathmore University

Sir Tim Berners Lee, inventor of the WWW was in Kenya very recently and yesterday he was at Strathmore University where he talked a bit about the WWW, it’s origins and where it is going. I had the honor of presenting about African Pixel and Afrinnovator (http://www.afrinnovator.com/) at the same event, amongst other tech entrepreneurs and innovators in Kenya. The idea was to give Sir Tim the opportunity to see some of what is happening in Kenya in terms of innovation.

KenyanPoet has a more detailed post on the happenings of the day and photos.

Some have since come to regard him as a hero, whereas others […]

BarCamps are open, participatory worksh […]
  • On Startups: What exactly is a startup? (or the Startup Duck Test)
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of co-moderating two panels at the iHub during the monthly Nairobi Research Buzz event hosted by iHub Research and Microsoft. The theme was ‘Entrepreneurship 101′ based on research the iHub Research team is conducting on tech entrepreneurship in Kenya. There were two separate panels, the first consisting of […]
