So last week I moved out of my parents home to start my life on my own. Now I know that may not make for the most interesting blog post on a mostly tech blog. But you might find this interesting…
One of my biggest weaknesses is cooking. I mean I could almost not cook to save my own life, yes its that serious. So I have been making baby steps and I am yet to sleep hungry. So I decided that one solution this predicament of mine was to search for a cook book, really simple, step by step instruction cook book. And being the geek that I am, my quest naturally started at the plain white page with a long text box and a button a.k.a Google. And here is where I found the most interesting discovery after searching a little while…
An Open Source Cookbook… yes, you heard me right! An Open Source cookbook released under the GNU Free Documentation License (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html), written by a geek for geeks. Here’s a short liner from the intro:
Welcome, folks, to The Open Source Cookbook. This is my attempt at compiling an entire book of recipes and cuisine ideas from the Open Source software world – the kind of stuff that you’d cook before you sit down for a long night of coding, or the kind of stuff you prepare when you’ve got a LAN party in a few hours…
Yup, Open Source Cookbook, I’ll definitely try this… I definitely recommend it for all you geeks.

I hope you have a reasonable cooker to cook stuff from the Open Source cookbook.. Would you be adding stuff to it that you develop (in the kitchen) on your own

LOL! Yeah, I will be adding stuff to it as I develop. I can forsee endless nights moonlighting in the kitchen! As for the cooker, hiyo bado. Seems some of the recipes are quite sophisticated for a starter like me. I forgot to give the link to the book here it is: http://www.ibiblio.org/oscookbook/
