Africa to see more of Google

It seems Google are not intending to just play little league ball in Africa; word on the street’s that Google is about to open an office in South Africa. It started with Egypt, then recently Mr. Joe Mucheru was hired to head up the Kenyan deployment, and then hiring Stafford Masie, for the South African wing. I am curious to see how this will proceed.

Google has announced that it will be setting up offices in South Africa from the 3rd of September 2007.

The office will be responsible for building Google’s advertising and applications business in South Africa, as well as expanding the company’s strategic partnerships in the region. Google wants to help ensure that South Africans have greater to access information and that businesses are able to make the most of the opportunities offered by the Internet….
